Maintaining Brand Reputation In Times Of The Covid-19 Pandemic
    (Griffith College, 2021) Douglas Dahlhoff
The importance of maintaining brand reputation is a central element within marketing management. Companies engage in developing a brand identity, which consumers perceive as a brand image. Therefore, brand reputation encompasses both the image held by consumers and the strategic goal of management. Decisions regarding the choice of appropriate marketing communication activities for establishing brand reputation involve orchestrating the marketing communication mix, allocating budgets, and designing brand messages. This process begins with considering consumer behavior, including the customer journey. The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly altered consumer behavior, thereby impacting the managerial task environment and decisions related to marketing communication policy. Building on the theoretical foundation of brand reputation and marketing communication activities, an explorative study was conducted using qualitative polling of 15 managers from various industries. The study reveals a shift from offline to online use of marketing communication instruments during the Covid-19 pandemic. Reductions in marketing budgets were reported, and differences in management decisions based on company type were observed. Brand messages often addressed changes in consumer needs and the psychological situation of target groups, although these messages varied depending on the products and services offered. Agility, as a general behavioral characteristic of a company's internal organization, played a significant role during the pandemic. The pandemic period is also seen as a "wake-up call" for post-pandemic management.

The role of marketing strategies in the maintenance of gender stereotypes in the French fashion industry: Analysis of print T-shirts and consumer’s perception
    (Griffith College, 2021) Iman Moreaux
This study explores the role of marketing in reinforcing gender stereotypes in the adult ready-to-wear sector in France, through the analysis of print T-shirts and consumer perceptions. A total of 200 adult T-shirts from 12 popular French fashion retailers were selected for analysis. A detailed examination of messages, images, and colors reveals disparities between men and women. Men are often depicted as encouraged to be their best selves and to explore the world through themes such as sport, adventure, or the urban environment. In contrast, women are often confined to an idealized and superficial world where relationships, physical appearance, and emotions take priority. The analysis also indicates that gender stereotypes on T-shirts are specific to the adult segment and to French culture. Interviews were conducted with 7 individuals, including 4 women and 3 men aged 15-74, to analyze their perception of gender stereotypes on T-shirts. The analysis revealed that three factors influence this perception: the individual's gender, the individual's attitudes towards gender roles, and the individual's age. This research serves as a continuation of previous studies on gender marketing, and the findings underscore the importance of marketing strategies being aware of their effects on social representations of gender roles.

(Griffith College, 2021) Nwosu Chinua Williams
This research evaluates the Ease of Doing Business (EDB) index on business performance in Nigeria’s agricultural sector. The EDB is a framework created by the World Bank but implemented by host countries to provide a conducive business environment. Thus, through the EDB, several infrastructures, business permits, licenses, etc., are provided for business take-off. This research evaluates the performance of the EDB in the agricultural sector. The research sought to identify the successes and challenges of the EDB in the agricultural sector. The research adopts qualitative analysis, which collects data through interviews with 7 farmers. Since the EDB seeks to create a conducive business environment, the research also uses business environment tools as PESTLE analysis and Porter’s 5 forces to evaluate the EDB. The research discovers that the EDB is an essential framework that aids businesses. It’s successes are within the Economic and Legal business environment factors, as the government has implemented several economic-friendly policies and made easy access to licenses/permits for business start-ups. The challenges lie within the political, technological, and social environment. These challenges create insecurity, the absence of solid infrastructure, and a lack of manpower in the agricultural sector. The research further recommends steps through which these challenges can be solved.
