Towards a Greener Future: The Vape Battery Recycling Challenge. Recycling Practices and Environmental Impact of Disposable Vape Batteries in Monkstown.
(Griffith College, 2024) Roberto Pureco Pamatz, Luis; Dayman, Charlie
In the first stage, it will evaluate if it is a waste management system of that type. Afterwards, their actions are measured to identify where they fall short and locations assistance is accessible on the maintenance side. The study will have the advantage of access to sales data related specifically in terms of how many vaporizers were ordered, sold weekly, and returned to store. It was the foundation to give more precise metrics on analyzing and prototyping an in-store recycling bin. This mimic will help ensure the recycling (or other disposal) of single use vaporizers for more sustainable waste management. This will be achieved through utilizing qualitative processes, such as semi-structured interviews and participant observation. Consumer interviews shall be performed to learn about consumer behaviour post use of vaping waste and current practice observations within the store regarding handling waste management. Customer attitudes and perceptions toward recycling disposable vaping batteries that will be investigated via closed-ended questionnaires. By taking such a broad approach, this will find the obstacles and possibilities of recycling at retail sites from disposable vape batteries. The research will end in the proposal of a better waste management system that can be implemented for Monkstown as well, addressing its problems and moving further to aid other communities having similar difficulties. This research has the power to change policy and practice into a sustainable responsible waste management of tomorrow. This research will not go into detail about consumer behavior of vaping, such as flavors or brand preferences and how long consumers have been consuming. It will also only be done with the brands marketed by Spar Monkstown, and only on disposable vapers too, excluding other types of vapers or electronic cigarettes. At the same time, it will not deal with any of the social ethics on consumption issues such as legality or harm to health in the use of substances whether it is right or wrong to consume and even individual perceptions. It also won't qualify as environmental harm, rather trying to show that there is a gap in the recycling loop for trash from dispose of VOLCANO vaporizers

The Impact of Inventory Management Practices On Customer Satisfaction In Supermarkets
(Griffith College, 2024) Ramesh Dulani, Aachal; Davis, Paul
The respective research study has introduced the critical position of inventory management within the retail sector, and particularly the supermarkets, where satisfaction is usually associated with the availability of products and proper stock control. The introduction has also delineated how appropriate inventory practices play a pivotal role in competitive advantages and also in lessening operational costs while the demands of the customer are able to be fulfilled in a timely manner. The section of Review of Literature also covers available studies on different strategies in managing inventories, such as JIT and EOQ, and the application of advanced technologies, like EPOS. In particular, it accentuates the shortcomings of literature; the scant numbers of comprehensive studies that directly link inventory management practices to customer satisfaction but within a supermarket context. This research study addresses these knowledge gaps in helping understand better how supermarkets can use effective inventory management to enhance customer satisfaction and operational improvement. The following paper also discusses how inventory management practices affect customers' satisfaction with supermarkets, and as such, it focuses on Tesco. A mono-methods approach was used in this study, wherein quantitative surveys were employed in data gathering for customers and staff of Tesco dealing with inventory management. It was observed from the results that good practices of inventory management, like an automated replenishment system and correct demand forecasting, are positively correlated with high levels of customer satisfaction. It can be gauged from the discussion that these practices reduce stockouts, and improve product availability, and overall shopping experience, thereby fostering customer loyalty. The study concludes that supermarkets have to invest in advanced inventory management technologies and staff training programs to maximize their stock control activities and meet customer expectations. Predictive analytics can further be integrated with ongoing replenishment systems to maintain optimal inventory levels and bottom-line customer satisfaction continuously.

(Griffith College, 2024) Anh Nguye, Ngoc; Kieran, Turlough
As worries about the environment and resource scarcity have grown, sustainable practices have become more important not only for organizations but also for the global society. International students represent a diverse population who contribute significantly to the food system in Ireland. This dissertation investigated the factors that influence the consumption of sustainable food among international students in Ireland, with a focus on the motivations driving their choices as well as the barriers they face. The study used mixed-methods, combining quantitative surveys in the form of questionnaire collected from 54 international students in Ireland, and qualitative interviews within 4 other students to gain a thoroughly understanding of their attitudes, behaviours, and challenges. The findings revealed that key motivations for sustainable food consumption include health consciousness, environmental consciousness, and social influences, particularly the alignment with the values of the society they live within. The study also highlighted the role of institutional supports and the influence of pride/guilt feelings on students' purchase intentions. Besides, although students' diet is strongly shaped and influenced by their cultural background, they are also receptive to sustainable eating habits from other cultures. On the other hand, barriers to their sustainable food consumption intention include the high price of sustainable food products, and the mistrust in the sustainable labelling system, while unavailability does not seem to be a significant barrier that prevents international students in Ireland from making more sustainable food choices. Based on the findings, the dissertation offered several recommendations for stakeholders. For policymakers, the emphasis is on creating policies that enhance the accessibility and affordability of sustainable food. Educational institutions are encouraged to integrate sustainability into their curricula and campus life. Food service providers are urged to offer more culturally diverse and affordable sustainable food options. In conclusion, this research contributed to the understanding of sustainable food consumption in a multicultural context and offered practical recommendations to support international students in making sustainable food choices. Reflecting on this research journey, the author has gained significant insights into the complexities of sustainable food practices and the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in addressing global challenges.

An Assessment of Inventory Management in A Wholesale Organization - A Case Study on Challenges, Practices, and Strategic Technological Integration
(Griffith College, 2024) Mohanan Ponneth, Ayyappadas; Brown, Mildred
In this study, the inventory management practices of a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) wholesale organization in Ireland were analyzed to identify the challenges, assess the effectiveness of current practices, and develop strategic recommendations for improvement. The company imports goods from South American and Asian nations, but it has serious problems with stockouts, manual inventory procedures, and logistics. This study used a qualitative case study methodology, conducting in-depth interviews with important organization members to learn about their systems, technology, and inventory management practices. The results showed that although the company uses Sage software to manage inventory well for simple activities, it faces challenges with delays in logistics, which often result in stockouts, and lacks sophisticated technology tools for inventory optimization and demand forecasting. The study also showed that the existing dependence on manual procedures restricts scalability and takes a lot of time, even if skilled workers can produce high accuracy. The organization's usage of key performance indicators (KPIs) like stockout rates and sales performance was found to be beneficial; however, more comprehensive measures like customer satisfaction and supply chain efficiency might be added to improve the KPIs even further. The study concluded by recommending the integration of advanced technologies like RFID and IoT to improve inventory tracking and forecasting accuracy, as well as the expansion of KPIs to provide a more holistic view of inventory management performance. The study's conclusion included expanding KPIs to give a more comprehensive picture of inventory management performance as well as integrating cutting-edge technologies like RFID and IoT to increase inventory monitoring and forecasting accuracy. These suggestions are meant to assist the company in improving its operational effectiveness, lowering stockouts, and better meeting client demand in a competitive sector. In addition to providing useful insights for enhancing inventory management practices through strategic technological integration and process optimization, this research advances knowledge of the inventory management difficulties faced by SMEs in the wholesale sector, particularly those that depend on foreign suppliers.

Thus, the research was inspired to investigate how the awareness of animal testing improves consumer behavioural patterns vis-á-vis, brand loyalty and ethical consumerism towards animal testing. In order to examine this topic, data was collected using qualitative approach (telephone interview) as the primary aim was to discover the in-depth behaviour and attitude of these cosmetic consumers. These comprises of 10 participants that agreed to both the telephone interview and audio-recording. This led to the key findings that the attitude of these consumers remained unchanged regardless of whether their chosen cosmetic brand(s) testing were good on animals or not. Some of the participants also view animal testing as a necessary sacrifice for the wellbeing of humanity. They would rather focus on value, convenience and trends when purchasing or remaining loyal to a cosmetic brand(s). Though there were a few participants who admitted to the possible change of their polarised attitudes into being supportive against the use of cosmetics that will be tested on animals in the future. Besides, the consumers believe that the price to pay for changing cosmetics was far too expensive in comparison to the animal testing claims. It was therefore recommended that in order for the cosmetic industry to compete favourably in the global market, they must endeavour to follow standard procedure in the testing of their cosmetics. On the other hand, the consumer must show concern for how their cosmetic are being tested in accordance with the standard to be able to enjoy continuity of their chosen cosmetic products.

A Descriptive Research of drivers and stumbling blocks in the Sustainable supply chain: (Specially focused on the Indian Automotive Industries).
    (Griffith College, 2020) Sharma, Vaibhav
This study outlined the main drivers and barriers of sustainability in the supply chain in the context of the automobile industry. For the profound understanding of how these practices are implemented, scholar proposed two research objectives to understand the measures that companies have taken on implementing sustainability and how farther are their implementation of different sustainable practices. This study involved five automobile companies with operations in different cities of India. After systematic investigation of current literature in sustainable supply chain management, scholar noticed that there is a gap in research since there are significantly fewer studies on the drivers and barriers for the implementation of the sustainable supply chain. To achieve the objectives, the scholar selected qualitative research approach. By using a qualitative research technique, the scholar focused on getting complete information related to the sense of different firms’ employees, such as purchasing manager or head engineer. With the help of semi-structured interviews, scholar obtained a thorough understanding of the drivers and barriers that firms face when an attempt to implement sustainable practices. The results of the study disclosed that there are various motivators and barriers to sustainable supply chain implementation. Stakeholders such as customers and government were referred to by participants as driving forces for the association of sustainable practices in the automobile firms. Government policies and regulations are a powerful driver for enhancing sustainable practices for firms. However, the lack of policies may diminish the pace of sustainability. To be competitive in the global market, sustainable relations with all kinds of internal and external stakeholders is essential when implementing sustainability in the automotive supply chain.
