In the initial stage, this study will examine the status of Ireland’s supply chain and its existing trade barriers. Further, this paper will explore the impacts of Brexit in Ireland and the impact of Belt and Road Initiative as an alternate source for its supply chain. The nature of the research is exploratory and interpretivist, while the approach taken is inductive having qualitative method for data collection. The process of data collection for this dissertation was through the series of interviews being conducted with the supply chain professionals, supply chain consultants working in global organizations and with the business owners. The experience and knowledge of the participants have helped to determine the status of the supply chain, effects of Brexit and helped to explore the Belt and Road Initiative and its effects in Ireland. This research also found various benefits that the supply chain of Ireland can have if it is into the Belt and Road Initiative. This paper also focuses on the challenges and issues Ireland might face due to Brexit and BRI.
